Backyard Travel Saigon Tour Giveaway Winner Announced

We’re finally announcing the winner of the Backyard Travel Saigon Tour Giveaway – the winner and a friend will get to do what the boys above are doing and slurp some noodles on the street on the cuisine and culture-themed Insiders Saigon: Cuisine, Architecture and the Arts Tour.

Yes, it’s taken us a while, we know. Consider it further evidence of what a busy year it’s been for us – we’re just now announcing the Backyard Travel Saigon Tour Giveaway winner. We, ahem, announced the giveaway at the end of, um, (cough, cough) last year… and we were meant to announce the winner, in, um, April. But life has been hectic, sorry.

Due to our tardiness, the nice people of Backyard Travel have extended the terms of the prize, and the winner now has until end of December 2015 to travel. So, without wasting any more time…

The winner of the Backyard Travel Saigon Tour is… SALLY LYNCH from Australia.

Sally’s name was chosen randomly from our mailing list using a random name generator.

Sally will get to do the private four-day tour of Vietnam’s southern city Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City as it’s more officially, but less fondly called), with a friend.

They’ll get to do a market tour and cooking class, explore the city on the back of a vintage Vespa, do a fascinating architecture walk with a local historian, get an insight into the art scene with a local artist, and do a bike tour around peaceful Thanh Da Island.

We’ll be announcing another very exciting (and very indulgent) giveaway this weekend, so do check back for details.

You will need to subscribe to Grantourismo to be in the running for that and all future giveaways. Please don’t worry: we will not share your private contact details nor will we spam you.

If you’re already on our mailing list, you can expect to receive our first newsletter in your mail very soon with some subscriber-only opportunities.

A big thank you to Asia-based Backyard Travel for the tour. We only work with companies that we’ve used and love and we’ve enjoyed many of their experiences over the years, as well as hosting our culinary travel writing and photography tour with the company. Backyard Travel’s authentic insider experiences align with our travel style – slow, local and experiential. To book their tours head to the Backyard Travel website.
