Berlin Take-Homes: Designer Souvenirs

Yes, there is more to shopping in Prenzlauer Berg than vintage. Not everything is retro. There are plenty of contemporary new products too. The neighbourhood boasts brilliant concept stores specialising in cool ‘made in Berlin’ products from local graphic and product designers, visual artists, illustrators, and self-publishers.

Here are a few of my favourite stores to find unique souvenirs:

Luxus International
Kastanienallee 101
www.luxus-international.de
Local designers rent a display shelf or space within the shop to sell their creations, everything from kitsch plastic food mould earrings to souvenirs with a twist, such as the funky television tower fridge magnets, above.

Supalife Kiosk
Raumerstr. 40
www.supalife.de
You’ll find books, magazines, cards, posters, prints, and more by visual artists, illustrators, writers, graphic designers, and self-publishers. The shop changes its exhibition space every six weeks and hosts workshops and events.

03 Berlin
Oderberger Straße 3
www.o3-berlin.de
Kitsch and kooky gifts by local and foreign designers. The shop operates in a similar way to Luxus, with different designers displaying their stuff in their own spaces.

Uhranus
Kastanienallee 31
www.uhranus.de
Clever, unique and unusual gifts and interior design products from local and international designers, with an emphasis on made in Berlin brands.

We love your shop! Sorry you guy were so busy when we visited. Of course we’re telling people come to Berlin! It’s a city we would so much love to spend more time in.
