Every afternoon since we've been here in Muo, a fishing village on the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, we've looked over to the UNESCO-heritage-listed town of Kotor opposite and watched the light change as dusk arrives and the sun sets. Isn't it just something special? I thought the best way to share it with you was a time lapse sequence. This was actually my test run, but the weather has taken a turn for the worst. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to try it again before we leave!

What is GranTourismo?
In 2010, globetrotting travel writers Lara Dunston and Terence Carter, in partnership with HomeAway Holiday-Rentals, will trade hotel rooms for holiday homes as they embark on a contemporary grand tour of the globe. They’ll be travelling slowly, living like locals, doing and learning things, and giving something back at each destination they visit. Their mission is to explore more enriching and authentic ways of travelling, and make travel more meaningful and more memorable.

beautiful effect, really breathtaking!
Are those lights on the hill houses? That was an awesome time-lapse. A friend of mine is from Montenegro I’ll have to ask him if he’s been to Kotor.
Oh. Wow. Terence, your “test run” is gorgeous! My husband and I are in the midst of planning my 40th birthday trip in October, and while we’re sold on Slovenia and Croatia, Montenegro has been the dangling question…until now.
Can’t wait to read more about your and Lara’s adventures there!
Thanks guys,
Eli, the shape of lights follows the walls around the hill, The light in the middle is a small church. More on that soon!
Cheers,
T
Those lights are from the fortress(sorry for my English) above the town,it served as protection from invaders…
I’ll post some pictures from Lovcen, with view on Boka bay on my twitter page…
Beautiful photo of beautiful Kotor
There are so many picturesque spots in little Montenegro!
gorgeous! WOW!!
I’ve just added Kotor to my ‘bucket list’ … which, it seems, gets places added to it faster than they get ticked off!
Seems like you have a beautiful view across the lake- enjoyed the video – looking forward to lots more.
